Dickson Neoh

I am a strong believer in using technology especially artificial intelligence in improving the quality of life of human being. I made it my life-long goal to bring as much as possible the advancement of artificial intelligence into everyday human lifes. My current research interest involves applying artificial intelligence into the medical field.

MY LATEST RESEARCH

One of my research works involves recognizing the gestures of a humanoid robot. The robot is "taught" to recognize the gestures by having human operators "show" the gesture by mobilizing the limbs of the robot. At the end of the learning process, the robot should be able to recognize the gestures taught to it!

Artificial Intelligence is taking the world by storm. In this TED talk, Prof. Fei Fei Li from Stanford University illustrates to us how we teach computers to see and understand images better. Computers are now intelligent enough to generate captions for your photos! Interesting talk!

How cool would it be if one day, our cars can drive on its own. We can forget about wasting time in long traffic queues and do more productive work! Going in that direction, a self-driving car needs to know how to recognize objects on the road like humans do. This work shows that we can teach a computer to recognize predetemined objects from a video.
